"If a picture paints..."---and you know the rest---"...a thousand words..." That line from the song "If" by the 70's band Bread is the inspiration behind the title track to this new album. Musically, each of these nine compositions tell a story about the people and places that have shaped who I am and what I have experienced thus far in the journey we call life.

As you listen to this record, I hope you'll be able to hear and feel some elements of my and perhaps your human experience----love, longing, loss, pain, joy, hopefulness, intimate knowledge of another soul.

I'm thankful for the musicians and friends who came alongside me and brought this music to life in the studio. We did it all in one day, with minimal rehearsal time.

I also want to thank my wife, who is also my best friend and biggest fan. Without her, none of this would be worth the effort. She has first place in my life, and always will.

And to our kids, this is all really for you guys. One day, I will have to go through that final door in life and leave you all to catch up. Music isn't all I am, but it's a huge part as you know, and I want you to have this (and all of my music---past present, and future) as a token of my undying thankfulness and love for you. May it encourage you on your journey.

Most of all, I want to give thanks to God, who is always gracious, merciful, and patient. "He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities." Psalm 103:4

Finally, thank each of you for listening. I pray this music will be a blessing to you for a long time to come.
